About IBB

What is a Bankers' Bank?

A bankers' bank is a duly chartered state or, in some cases, federal banking institution organized solely to do business with financial institutions, bankers, and bank directors. Ownership of these bankers' banks is made up exclusively of community financial institutions in the geographic area served by that bankers' bank. A bankers' bank does not do business with the general public but is available to any financial institution wishing to use its services.

Presently bankers' banks are serving approximately 6,000 community financial institutions in 50 states. Our goal is to provide quality correspondent services to community financial institutions without ever directly competing for their customers' deposits. This key feature sets us apart from all of our competitors.

Correspondent banking is the only business of a bankers' bank.
