TIB Adds To Southeast Correspondent Staff
July 1, 2009
TIB-The Independent BankersBank announced the addition of Josh Latina today, as the bank’s new Georgia-based Vice President/Correspondent Relations Officer. Mr. Latina formerly served as a Business Development Officer with Silverton Bank in Atlanta.
“Josh has a tremendous rapport with bankers throughout Georgia, both from his time at Silverton and, before that, with the Georgia Bankers Association, commented TIB President and CEO, Michael O’Rourke. He will serve as an exceptional ambassador for TIB, as we continue to help fill the correspondent void left after Silverton’s departure. We have seen a dramatic increase in banks selecting TIB as their primary correspondent over the past few weeks, so we are anxious to get Josh out on the road visiting with those bankers and assisting them in getting their accounts moved expeditiously.”
One of Mr. Latina’s first orders of business will be to host TIB’s upcoming Atlanta-based seminar aimed at helping bankers across the Southeast become more acquainted with TIB. The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 9th at the Atlanta Airport Marriott. Similar meetings will be held in Birmingham, Alabama and Nashville, Tennessee. Bankers can acquire more information and register via the following link: http://www.mybankersbank.com/events/seminar.
Mr. Latina is a graduate of Florida State University, where he earned a B.S. in Social Sciences. He has an extensive background of service to the bankers of Georgia, having served in a number of key roles for the Georgia Bankers Association prior to joining Silverton.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to join TIB,” noted Latina. “This market is going to be very competitive but, once the bankers across the Southeast get to know TIB, they will learn exactly what I have – that TIB has the best suite of products and the best staff available to serve them. Just as important, as a bankers’ bank, the institutions throughout the region can rest assured they will never be dealing with a potential competitor, when they do business with TIB.”
The announcement of Latina’s hiring follows closely on the heels of the Bank’s notice that it had hired Paul Taylor as VP/Correspondent Relations Officer as its representative in Tennessee, as well as having established a full branch in the state of Georgia. “I think bankers across the Southeast were, initially, waiting to see how committed TIB is to the region,” explained O’Rourke. “Once they saw that we are going to be here for the long haul, they have begun moving their business to our care in earnest. We are excited about the opportunity to assist them during what we know is a challenging time.”
Exclusively owned by over 480 of the very banks it serves, TIB is a full service bankers’ bank, providing correspondent products and services to more than 1,400 independent community financial institutions in 46 states, plus Guam and Bermuda. The Bank has offices in Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
