February 9, 2010
Springfield, IL…TIB-The Independent BankersBank continued to expand its already formidable calling officer staff today, by naming Callan Hagen-Stapleton as Assistant Vice President/Correspondent Relations Officer for Southern Illinois. Stapleton previously served within the Sales and Marketing Division of the former Independent Bankers’ Bank (IBB) of Illinois.
“We are very fortunate to be able to retain Callan in what we believe is another key role – serving the community banks of Southern Illinois,” noted TIB President and CEO, Michael O’Rourke. “Callan has tremendous knowledge of the banks within the region and is well-versed on the current products and services, as well as the expanded offerings we will be providing in the days to come. He will serve as a reliable partner for the banks of Southern Illinois.”
Stapleton earned a BA in Management from the University of Illinois, Springfield and his currently pursuing an MBA in Business Administration from that same institution. He is also a graduate of The Community Bankers School in Bloomington, Illinois. His banking career has included service both at IBB and as a community banker.
Stapleton is the most recent addition to a veteran and highly-regarded staff of calling officers retained from the former IBB. That staff now consists of:
- Bill Becker, Vice President - Central/SouthEeastern Illinois
- Tony Steinkopf, Vice President - Northwestern Illinois
- Callan Hagen-Stapleton, AVP – Southwestern Illinois
- John Crotty, Regional Marketing Representative - Northeastern Illinois
- Tom Fields, Regional Marketing Representative– Indiana
IBB was closed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation on Friday, December 18, 2009, and placed into receivership with the FDIC. This resulted in the formation of Independent Bankers’ Bank Bridge Bank, N.A. (IBBBB). TIB subsequently purchased IBBBB’s liabilities and certain operational services from the FDIC under a “Clean Purchase and Assumption Agreement” on January 13, 2010.
TIB is a bankers’ bank, providing correspondent banking products and services to more than 1,500 community banks in 46 states. TIB can be found on the Internet at www.mybankersbank.com.
